MEITEI KITAKU

How to play & FAQ

MEITEI KITAKU ("drunk walk home") is a free first-person 3D browser game about walking home through a Japanese suburb at night. A road with an anomaly is the wrong way — get home before you fall asleep.

How to play (3 steps)

  1. Walk — push the on-screen stick to walk; further is faster, sideways turns (WASD / arrow keys also work on PC).
  2. Observe — swipe (drag on PC) to look around. Search the night streets for anything that feels off.
  3. Choose — a road with an anomaly is the wrong way. Turn back and pick another street. The longer you wander, the sleepier you get — reach your own gate before you doze off.

FAQ

What kind of game is MEITEI KITAKU?

A free first-person 3D browser game about stumbling home drunk through a quiet Japanese suburb at night. A road with an anomaly (something that feels off) is the wrong way. Spot the anomalies, pick the right streets, and get home before you fall asleep. No install needed — it runs on phones and PCs.

Is it free to play?

Completely free. No account needed — just open it in your browser.

How do the controls work?

Push the on-screen stick up to walk (further = faster) and sideways to turn. Swipe the screen (drag on PC) to look around and search for anomalies while you walk. On PC you can also walk with WASD or the arrow keys.

How do I clear the game?

Stand in front of your home's gate and you're home. Every time you take a street that leads away from home, your detour count rises — and the more you stray, the sleepier you get. At 20 detours you fall asleep on the street and it's game over.

I keep getting lost. Any tips?

When you spot an anomaly, don't push on — turn back. Walking with the moon at your back points you toward home. And if you feel like you've walked this street before… that's the town telling you something too.

What kinds of anomalies are there?

Several kinds of things that could exist on a night street in Japan — but are somehow wrong when you look closely. Listing them would spoil the fun, so go walk and find out.

What is “Tonight's town”?

A daily town that changes at midnight Japan time. For that day, every player in the world walks the same night. Clear it on consecutive nights and your streak grows (the record is stored only on your device).

Is this an anomaly-spotting game?

It builds on the grammar of the anomaly-spotting genre — if something feels off, turn back — with respect, and combines it with an original mix: a maze-like suburb, a drunk walk home, and a sleepiness limit.
